We need to thank God each day for the blessings that He has provided. It is right to give our thanks and praise.
We are often so tempted to shift the focus from God to ourselves. And so many people have decided to make this change in focus. People choose to do this because they fear that He may not come through or that His blessing is not fast enough or enough. And it’s a punch to the ego to say that our success or blessing is from someone like God. We need to say to God that we trust His timing for our lives and we have faith.
God has called you into relationship with Himself through Jesus Christ in order for you to be caught up in His purposes in the world. Recently the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America used the phrase “God’s work – our hands” to explain this. God wants us to be in alignment with His will to do the work that He would have us do.
Psalm 106:3 (NIV) says: Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right.
and
Psalm 41:1 (NIV) adds: Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.
When we are in alignment with God great things can and do happen in the course of our lives. When you focus on being a blessing to others, God makes sure that you are always blessed in abundance and He then multiplies the blessings you offer others! When we are living in God’s will he can multiply our offering to serve more people and expand the Kingdom of God.
2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV) explains: And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
When we keep our focus on God He pours down blessings from an open heaven. Blessings fall down upon us like rain from heaven when our focus is right. God wants to do things through me, I just need to believe and follow Him. I have faith that God will surround all of His creation with blessings. A faithful and focused man shall abound with blessings.
