It’s Not a Man made Invention
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
The Apostle’s Creed is a profession of faith that brings
concisely into a statement our belief in the salvation that is found in Jesus
Christ. The first section speaks to God
and His creation. The second section
sums up the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the
redemption of man’s sin and separation from God. Finally the third and closing section reminds
us of the third divine person of the Holy trinity, the Holy Spirit.
Professing the Creed should not just be a meaningless
recitation. It should be a reminder of
the love of God and our redemption through Jesus Christ.
